THE BUILDING
The building in acts as a teaching tool. It employs solar panels to collect sustainable energy, sports composting and rainwater catchment systems, and operable windows to generate passive cooling. These systems can be learnt inside the classrooms and actively observed in the greenhouse and in the yard, thus turning the entire building into a didactic setting.

THE EDGE
An acrylic memory board creates the northern edge of the building. Cast acrylic is a semi-transparent erasable surface. The goal is to allow the community to record and document thoughts, artwork, and information directly onto this surface. The glass roof allows light into the building. The light filters down through a glass block floor into the double-height entry space below. |
