Tiny Homes
"Territorial Injustice" is the unequal distribution of resources and a lack of ownership within a community. This thesis strives to understand and respond to territorial injustice in Sherman Park, Wisconsin. In order to revitalize the community, the goal of this project is to design a safe and connected environment and encourage public and private ownership. The architectural intervention reuses vacant lots and back alleys to create a shared pedestrian street that will accommodate a variety of public uses to enhance community interaction. In addition, a system of tiny homes located along the public pathway will offer an opportunity for the people of Sherman Park to reestablish a sense of community, while feeling connected and safe in a place they can call home.
